Diana Penty to Sunny Leone: Non-Malayali actresses who will be marking their debut in M-Town soon

With the boom of OTT platforms, Malayalam cinema is breaking boundaries and it is starting to get more visibility and recognition. More and more people have started following Malayalam films and begun to appreciate the content it delivers. Many actors from across the country have expressed their wish to be part of Malayalam movies and a few others have already signed projects.

From Diana Penty to Sunny Leone, here is a list of Non-Malayali actresses who will be marking their debut in Malayalam cinema very soon!

Diana Penty who has made the Bollywood cinephiles go gaga about her ever since her debut film ‘Cocktail’ is all set to mark her presence in Malayalam movies. The model-actress will be debuting in M-Town with an upcoming film titled ‘Salute’. The film is a cop drama directed by Rosshan Andrrews. And, Diana Penty will be sharing the screen with the charming pan-Indian star Dulquer Salmaan! “Cheers to new beginnings! ��Super excited to join @dqsalmaan, @rosshanandrrews, and the whole crew on this new journey - my first Malayalam film! Looking forward to the ride ��☺️,” the diva said while joining the film. The team had wrapped the shoot and it is expected to hit the screens when the current scenario improves.

Kayadu Lohar, who is popular in Kannada movies will be soon venturing into Malayalam movies. The actress has signed for ‘Pathonpatham Noottandu’, a film helmed by prominent filmmaker Vinayan. She is playing the Nangeli, who fought against the Mulakkaram, a breast tax. Women belonging to the lower caste weren’t allowed to cover their breasts until 1924 and one who wanted to do so should pay tax for it. According to the legend, Nangeli protested against this by cutting off her breasts. Kayadu Lohar is playing this powerful woman on the screen and the diva is super excited for her M-Town debut.

Shanvi Srivastava who has mostly worked in Kannada and Telugu films will be now debuting in Mollywood. The gorgeous actress will foray into M-Town with ‘Mahaveeryar’. She will be essaying the leading lady opposite Nivin Pauly and Asif Ali and the team has completed the shoot a couple of months ago. The actress has to train in horse-riding and Rajasthani folk dance for the film.

Raashi Khanna had already marked her debut in Malayalam with the 2017 film ‘Villain’, but the diva would be handling a substantial role in the upcoming film ‘Bhramam’. The film is directed by Ravi K Chandran and is a Malayalam remake of the Bollywood film ‘Andhadhun’. The film has Prithviraj Sukumaran, Mamta Mohandas, Unni Mukundan, and Raashi Khanna in the lead roles.

Bollywood beauty Sunny Leone has a lot of fans in Kerala than one could imagine. The diva had already appeared for a dance number in the film ‘Madhura Raja’ starring Mammootty, but her fans are longing to see her in a full-length film in Malayalam. Interestingly, Sunny Leone has not one, but two upcoming releases in Malayalam! She has signed ‘Rangeela’ and ‘Shero’. In ‘Rangeela’ she will be playing the role of a Bollywood actress and in ‘Shero’ she will be seen as a South Indian woman.
