Sandalwood industry resumes shooting post lockdown

After the government gave a green signal for Sandalwood to resume shooting, the industry is getting back to normalcy and shoots have begun in different parts of Karnataka. Crews are adhering to precautionary measures that have been made mandatory by the government. Even Puneeth Rajkumar will resume shooting from September 26. Here's a look at all the Kannada films which have resumed shooting


KGF Chapter 2: The shoot for KGF: Chapter 2, which is one of most expected movies of this year, began on August 26. Prakash Raj joined the shoot of the movie on the first day of the shoot. Even Yash and Malavika Avinash took part in the shoot at Minarva Mills. The film is directed by Prashanth Neel.

Phantom

Kichcha Sudeep starrer Phantom became the first Kannada film to resume shooting post the lockdown. The team erected a special set at Annapoorna Studios for the shoot, which began with minimal crew and with doctors and nurses on the shooting spot. The film sees Sudeep in the role of a cop, Vikranth Rona, and is directed by Anup Bhandari.

Bhajarangi 2

Shivarajkumar resumed shooting for Bhajarangi 2 at Mohan B Kere Studios on the outskirts of Bengaluru. The film team, which had completed 80 per cent of the shoot, filmed action sequences. The film directed by choreographer-turned-director A Harsha, marks the collaboration of this duo for the third time.

Trishula

Upendra shot for an action sequence at a garage in Mysuru, for Thrishula. The film, which is the remake of the Telugu film Balupu, also has Ravichandran and Shanvi Srivastava in lead roles. Om Prakash Rao is directing the film and the project was earlier titled as Veda Vyasa.

The shoot of the movie is currently progressing at a brisk pace, at a hotel in Namma Mysuru. Since lead actor Krishna is playing the role of a steward, the film has been shot majorly inside the hotel. The film, helmed by Nagashekhar, has Bhavana playing the female lead.

Avatar Purusha

Sharan started shooting the final schedule of the comedy movie Avatar Purusha, from September 14. The makers are planning to release the movie on December 25. The project sees Sharan and Ashika Ranganath sharing screen space for the first time.

Madagaja

Sriimurali is currently shooting for the action-packed movie Madagaja, in the heritage city Mysuru. The actor has teamed up with director Mahesh Kumar for the first time. The first schedule of shoot was held at Varanasi before the lockdown was imposed. The movie has Ashika Ranganath in the female lead.

Yuvarathnaa

Puneeth Rajkumar will resume shooting for Yuvarathnaa from September 26 for two songs. The project sees Puneeth Rajkumar playing the role of a college student after several years. The film marks Puneeth Rajkumar collaborating with director Santhosh Ananddram after several years.
