Sonakshi Sinha's brother ties the knot

According to an IANS report, filmmaker AR Murugadoss' yet-to-be-titled Hindi film which is an action thriller will star Sonakshi Sinha and Shatrughan Sinha. The film is set to go on the floors on March 14, 2015. "The film goes on floors on March 14. Murugadoss has also roped in Sonakshi's father to essay a brief but important role," a source from the film's unit was quoted in the IANS report. The film is an official remake of Tamil sleeper hit Mounaguru. Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has been roped in to play the baddie in the film, which marks Murugadoss' third venture in the language after Ghajini and Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty. The rest of the cast will be finalised soon, the report concluded.

The year 2015 started on a very good note for lady Shotgun. First, her short crops hogged limelight, and soon after that she received rave reviews for her performance in Tevar. But good news did not stop at just that for Sonakshi. Her elder brother, Kussh tied the knot on January 17, 2015. Kussh married his long time friend Taruna Agrawal, who belongs to an NRI family in London. The wedding ceremony was kept private and media was not allowed to enter.

Though the wedding was a close-knit affair, a lavish reception was organised on January 19, 2015. The major attraction of the wedding reception was the arrival of PM Narendra Modi. An excited Sonakshi Sinha shared a picture with PM Modi and her family members on Instagram. She wrote, "Thank you @narendramodi sir for keeping your promise to me! You made our day truly even more special :)" [sic]

As per a report, Narendra Modi's visit was not planned in advance. Modi's sudden visit put further pressure on the cops, who were guarding the Mumbai Marathon in the morning. Modi reached the hotel where the ceremony was organised, spent 30 minutes with the Sinha's and left. He sported his traditional silk kurta and Nehru jacket.

Back in the '80s, Amitabh Bachchan and Shatrughan Sinha worked together in a number of films and stayed with each other through thick and thin. But the friendship went sour when Shatrughan Sinha was not invited to Aishwarya and Abhishek's wedding. But the Bachchan family not only attended the wedding, they also posed happily for the cameras. Sonakshi posted this picture on Twitter. She tweeted, "Salaamat rahe dostaana aapka! Thank u @SrBachchan uncle and jaya aunty for the warmth and happiness :)" [sic]

The event saw Bollywood's who's who in attendance. Sonakshi Sinha also shared a picture with Jaya Bachchan, Tina Ambani, Hema Malini and Poonam Dhillon on her social account. All the actresses, dressed in traditional silk sarees and jewellery, looked elegant. Sonakshi looked like a million bucks in this mauve coloured lehenga choli. She complemented her attire with kundan and gold jewellery.

Shatrughan Sinha, a former Union Minister, is now a BJP MP from Patna. Sonakshi also shared many pictures from the wedding ceremony. She also shared a picture with dad Shatrughan and wrote, "All settttt!!! dulhe ke daddy! #bhaikishaadi #weddingtimes #fun #baraat." [sic] Dad Shatrughan and brother Luv sported a traditional pagdi during the ceremony.

The wedding mandap was lavishly decorated. Sonakshi shared a picture from the mandap too and wrote, "#bhaikishaadi #mandap #phere #weddingtimes." [sic] She also shared a couple of pictures from the mehendi ceremony. While sharing her mehendi picture, Sonakshi wrote, "Rach gayi mehendi!! #bhaikishaadi #baraat #phere #weddingtimes #fun." [sic]

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan too took out some time from their busy schedule and attended the event. While Abhishek was dressed in black sherwani, Aishwarya looked gorgeous in a beige coloured churidar suit. Manish Malhotra looked dapper as always in black. Neil Nitin Mukesh also attended the event and sported a golden coloured, heavily embroidered sherwani.
