The 43rd People’s Choice Awards, honouring the best in popular culture for 2016, were held on January 18, 2017, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California. Robert Downey Jr wins for ‘Captain America: Civil War’

‘Iron Man’ star Robert Downey Jr. found himself nominated in two different categories – Favourite Movie Actor and Favourite Action Movie Actor – both for ‘Captain America: Civil War’ at the 43rd People’s Choice Awards. The actor bagged the award in the Favourite Action Movie Actor category.

Sweet victory for Johnny Depp

The ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ actor was pitted against Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks, Samuel L. Jackson and Denzel Washington in the Favourite Movie Icon category at the 43rd People’s Choice Awards. The previously 13-time award winner thanked the public for their support in the wake of his recent divorce with Amber Heard.

Blake Lively gushes over husband Ryan Reynolds

Blake gave a shout-out to her ‘Deadpool’ star husband Ryan Reynolds when she lifted the Favourite Dramatic Movie Actress award at the 43rd People’s Choice Awards for her turn as a stranded surfer in ‘The Shallows’. The 29-year-old actress, who gave birth to her second child just four months ago, faced stiff competition from Amy Adams, Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts and Emily Blunt in this category.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson thanks his daughter for the win

The former wrestling champion was nominated in two categories at the 43rd People’s Choice Awards, and clinched the award in the Favourite Premium Series Actor category for his starring role in HBO’s ‘Ballers’ and thanked his eldest daughter during his acceptance speech.
