Bigg Boss: Parineeti Chopra faces flak for prank on Ali Quli Mirza

The prank that actor Parineeti Chopra pulled on Bigg Boss contestant Ali Quli Mirza has apparently backfired. Parineeti, Ranveer Singh and Ali Zafar were on the reality show to promote Kill Dil. The three were dancing with the housemates, when Parineeti accused Ali of touching her "inappropriately." Ali was earlier reprimanded after Sonali Raut made a similar accusation. Parineeti later apologised to Ali for her prank, who seemed embarrassed about being targetted. Social media went abuzz with criticism directed at the show, and at Parineeti, for trivialising a matter as serious as sexual harassment. A report on hindustantimes.com quotes Parineeti, "The prank that the three of us played on Mirza was an idea given to us by the creative team of Bigg Boss. We, as actors, simply executed it, trusting their judgement. The intention was never to hurt sentiments or trivialise the matter of inappropriate behaviour towards women. We apologise to those who got hurt, but maintain that this was a prank, and should be not be taken so seriously. On a lighter note, we are big fans of the show and watch each and every episode. At the end of the day, we all sent pizzas to the contestants to make it up to them."
