The ‘Koffee with Karan’ couch has seen some wild, unexpected and downright fun celebrity pairings over the years. While we’re used to seeing co-stars or besties sip coffee and spill secrets, some episodes have taken us by surprise with jodis that no one saw coming. The final episode of Season 6 brought together two powerhouse actresses — Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Kareena Kapoor Khan. Considering their past digs at each other on the same show, this was a shocker. But this time, they buried the hatchet with grace and humour. They addressed the venom they were spewing at each other back in the day and laughed about it and it was honestly refreshing to watch.

Interestingly, both of them were proposed to in Greece by their respective partners — a fun fact they shared on the show. From Kareena talking about Taimur’s fame to Priyanka opening up about her Hollywood journey, this episode was an emotional and empowering way to end the season.

Alia and Deepika kicked off Season 6 in style. They weren’t just two top actresses sharing the screen, but also two women who had been linked to the same man- Ranbir Kapoor. Despite that, they shared a lovely bond on the show. They recalled a moment during a Coldplay concert in Berlin that brought them closer. Deepika shared, “When one not-so-popular song was being played, the actresses wanted to use the little ladies' room. However, the line in front of the ladies' washroom was too long, so the actresses decided to use the men’s loo instead.” They even cut the queue of men waiting outside. Talk about bold!

Back then, both were dating their now husbands — Ranbir and Ranveer. Fast forward to today, they’re both married and enjoying motherhood. Alia and Ranbir welcomed daughter Raha in 2022, and Deepika and Ranveer had a baby girl in September 2024.

Varun Dhawan and Katrina Kaif have never acted opposite each other, but when they came together on the couch in Season 6, it was pure entertainment. We learnt that back in the day, Varun and Arjun Kapoor had started an ‘I Hate Katrina Club’ during the filming of ‘Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya’ just to get Salman Khan’s attention!

Katrina, on the other hand, admitted she has a thing for ‘shopping off people’, including pinching Varun’s sunglasses! Now this pairing in Season 7 had everyone raising their eyebrows. Akshay and Samantha had never done a film together. They weren’t even friends. So why were they sharing a couch? In an interview with India Today, Karan explained the logic behind it: “So, a survey came in from Ormax where Samantha was leading as the number one pan-India star. And, in that same survey, Akshay Kumar was the only Hindi star who made it to the list. The rest were all stars from South cinema. So, I thought it would be interesting to get one top star from one cinema and the other together to see the dynamics. They don’t know each other and they are not friends. They are just professional acquaintances and it was a great show. It was a great episode with a lot of entertainment and fun!” And fun it was. The episode was filled with jokes, wit and unexpected chemistry between the two.

Long before Kangana became known for calling out Bollywood and taking jabs at Karan Johar, she had a surprisingly mellow appearance in Season 3. She wasn’t a main guest but showed up alongside Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt, having worked with them in the film ‘No Problem’. Still fresh in her career, Kangana appeared a bit awkward and quiet — a stark contrast to her bold and fiery avatar on later seasons. It was a rare moment where we saw a very different side to Kangana — more reserved and careful with her words.

One of the most awaited episodes of Season 5 was the one where Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor came together. With Deepika Padukone being the common thread between them, fans expected drama, but they got bromance instead! The two were totally at ease — breaking into dances, joking around and answering Karan’s cheeky questions with honesty. But the real twist came later when Ranbir revealed, “I told Karan I don’t want to come in...He is making money out of us. We come and we get screwed through the year.
