Bollywood's history with drugs

Several Bollywood celebrities have stated that drug culture prevails in the industry. As NCB took Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan into custody following a drug bust on a cruise ship off Mumbai shores, we take a look at some Bollywood celebrities who had a past with drugs.

Sanjay Dutt has opened up about his encounter with drugs in his several interviews. The actor had said that he has tried every drug available at that time. The star called that phase '9 years of hell'. He later decided to come out of it and has been clean since then.

Fardeen was arrested in 2001 after he was reportedly caught with 9gm of cocaine. In the same year, the actor decided to undergo a detoxification course and got rid of his addiction. Now, the actor is all geared up for his comeback film after 11 years. He will feature in Sanjay Gupta's 'Visfot' co-starring Riteish Deshmukh.

90s actress Mamta Kulkarni was named as an accused in a big drug racket in June 2018. Thane Police seized 20 tonnes of ephedrine. Reportedly, drugs of Rs 2,000 crore were confiscated by the cops during the raid conducted.

Armaan Kohli was arrested by the NCB in August 2021. The agency conducted a raid at his house in Juhu, Mumbai. A small amount of drugs was also found at his residence. Armaan is known for his films like 'Jaani Dushman' and 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo'.
