Vacancy distribution
According to the official notification, 23,467 posts have been earmarked for male candidates, while 2,020 vacancies have been allocated for female candidates. Selected applicants will be recruited into forces including the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Secretariat Security Force (SSF), and Assam Rifles.
Large-scale participation
The recruitment exercise witnessed significant interest from job seekers nationwide, with more than 48.83 lakh candidates registering for the examination. The Computer-Based Test was conducted over multiple days between April and May 2026 to accommodate the large number of applicants appearing across different centres.
Marking scheme and score evaluation
Candidates can estimate their performance using the prescribed marking pattern. Every correct response carries two marks, while 0.25 marks are deducted for each incorrect answer. The commission is expected to apply normalization procedures before preparing the final merit list.
What happens after the written examination?
Following completion of the answer key review process, SSC will announce the final answer key and results. Candidates who meet the required cut-off marks will proceed to the next stages of selection.
The subsequent phases include the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST), both of which are mandatory qualifying stages in the recruitment process. Aspirants should keep all relevant documents ready and regularly monitor official announcements for updates regarding result dates, cut-offs, physical test schedules, and further recruitment-related instructions.
