TNEA registration deadline extended till June 5: Check direct link to apply here
Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), Chennai has extended the last date for admissions to engineering colleges for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) 2026 registration to June 5, 2026. While the registration window has been extended, the complete counselling schedule is still awaiting approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Official documents released by the authorities indicate that counselling dates will be announced only after receiving the necessary clearance.
According to the revised schedule, online registration will now close on June 5, while candidates will be allowed to upload supporting documents until June 6. The random number, which is used to resolve tie situations in rankings, will be assigned on June 10. Certificate verification at TNEA Facilitation Centres (TFCs) is scheduled to begin from June 8.
The rank list for eligible candidates is expected to be published on June 29. Following this, students will be given an opportunity to raise grievances or seek corrections before the counselling process begins.
Unlike several other engineering admission systems, TNEA does not conduct a separate entrance examination. Admissions are granted based on marks secured in the qualifying Class 12 examination, with a normalisation process used to prepare the merit list.
The counselling process is conducted entirely online and includes registration, document verification, publication of rank lists, choice filling, seat allotment, confirmation of seats, and reporting to colleges.
