Gujarat horror: Man's suicide note unearths chilling secret; skeletal remains of wife, daughter found buried under house
PALANPUR: Skeletal remains of a woman (29) and her two-year-old daughter were exhumed from their home in Vadnagar, Mehsana, on Monday, a day after the husband died by suicide, leaving behind a note reportedly confessing to killing both of them six months ago.
Girish Parmar (30), a worker at a local diamond unit, jumped from the fourth floor of Vadnagar Civil Hospital on Sunday.
Police recovered a suicide note from his pocket in which he allegedly confessed to killing his wife, Priyanka, and daughter, Pari, and burying their bodies at their house in the Shahpur Vad locality.
Acting on the note, police reached the house and carried out excavation. "After nearly two hours of digging, skeletal remains of the two victims were found wrapped in clothes and buried beneath a plastered floor. DNA tests will be conducted to confirm their identities. A knife was also recovered from the house," said Jay Kansara, Deputy SP, Mehsana.
Preliminary investigation suggests marital discord as a possible motive, though officials said the exact reason will be established after detailed probing and questioning of family members.
Police said Parmar had been spreading rumours that his wife and daughter were missing while he stayed at his sister's house.
Police officials said Priyanka's grandfather had repeatedly urged Parmar to file a missing person complaint, but he refused.
Around 15 days ago, the grandfather approached the police, prompting an investigation and questioning of Parmar.
Investigators suspect Parmar took the extreme step fearing arrest.
Couple had love marriage
Priyanka's father, Raju Rawal, said she had grown up with her grandfather and was studying in Mehsana when she met Parmar. The two eloped and married in the temple town of Becharaji four years ago.
He added that Parmar had misled the family for months by claiming Priyanka had left home with jewellery.
