3 teens killed as speeding goods train runs over them

Palanpur: Three teenagers died after a goods train ran over them near Shobhasan village in Mehsana on Thursday evening. The teenagers were from Thakor Vas area and were in a hurry to cross the track without noticing the speeding goods train rushing at them.

The three died instantly after being hit by the train, and a pall of gloom gripped the entire village.

The accident occurred around 4.26pm. The three teenagers, residents of the Thakor Vas area of Shobhasan village, had gone out for some work. While they were crossing the railway track, they were suddenly hit by a speeding goods train passing from there. The speed was so fast that the three children did not even get a chance to save themselves and died on the spot.

The untimely death of the three kids of the same village cast a pall of gloom not only in Thakor Vas but in the entire village. The screams of the family members created panic in the area. The three children who died in this terrible accident were friends and all were studying.

The deceased are Jignesh Hamirji Thakor (15) and Maulikji Fatehsinh Thakor (16), Class 11 students, and Yuvraj Ranjeetji Thakor (14), a Class 9 student. All were from Shobhasan village.
