Rainbow model polling station in Pakhanjur

One of model polling stations of Kanker for assembly elections 2023 in became the attraction when it was developed as ‘Rainbow Model Polling station’ in Pakhanjur.

For transgender voters and cops

The speciality of this polling booth is that the theme rainbow refers to the transgender voters as well as transgender cops of Bastar Fighters deployed at this booth.

Set up in ​Pakhanjur-3 ​

Kanker collector Priyanka Shukla said probably this is the first of its kind initiative in the country. This polling booth has been established in Pakhanjur-3 area which has highest count of third gender electors in Kanker district.

The first phase of polling for the assembly elections in Chhattisgarh is being held today. The tribal state will witness a direct clash between the ruling Congress and the rival BJP.
