First trial run completed

The Pune Metro Line 3 project conducted its first successful trial run between Maan Depot and PMR04 station, marking a key step towards operational readiness.

PMRDA officials stated that 87% of the metro corridor's work has been completed, reflecting significant progress in the city’s third metro line development.

Focus on system safety checks

The trial run involved thorough internal system checks and verification of Schedule of Dimensions (SOD) compliance to ensure safety and infrastructure readiness.

23.3-km corridor with 23 stations

The fully elevated metro line will stretch 23.3 km, connecting Hinjawadi IT Park to Shivajinagar, and will include 23 stations along its route.

Advanced trains, technology

Four metro train sets from Alstom have arrived, each with three air-conditioned coaches. The trains will use CBTC technology and operate on a 750V DC third-rail system.

Operations targeted by March 2026
