26-year-old man arrested for pushing and abusing Pune police personnel

Pune: Khadak police have arrested a resident (26) of Meenatai Thackeray Vasahat at Gultekdi, for abusing and pushing its personnel on the police station premises around 2.20am on Friday. Police registered a case of assault or using criminal force against a public servant to deter them from performing their official duties.

Senior inspector Shashikant Chavan of Khadak police said, “We have arrested Rohan Salve and he was produced before a city court. The court remanded him in police custody till Sunday. Salve visited an eatery on Tilak Road in an inebriated condition late on Thursday night. He created ruckus in the eatery and its owner called the police control room. A police team visited the eatery and detained him. He was taken to the police station. However, he then abused and pushed our personnel present there.”

Later, a police constable on Saturday morning lodged a complaint against him.
