Patna: JD(U) has decided to convene its national council meeting in Patna on June 21 to formally ratify
Nitish Kumar’s re-election as the party’s national president, reinforcing organisational unity and sharpening its political roadmap ahead.

Bihar CM and the party’s central face, was unanimously re-elected as national president on March 24 after no other nomination was filed.
Party national spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan Prasad on Monday said the national council meeting will be held at Karpoori Sabhaghar, Patna, from 3pm to 4pm. Along with the ratification of the presidential election, the council will take up key organisational resolutions aimed at strengthening the party’s structure and readiness for upcoming programmes.
Immediately after, an open session will run from 4pm to 5pm, focusing on the party’s future direction, political outlook, and organisational priorities. The day’s schedule begins at 10am with a meeting of outgoing national office-bearers, followed by the outgoing national executive from 10.30am to 11.30am. At 11.45am, the newly elected Bihar State Council will meet to deliberate on state-level organisational matters and operational planning.
A major thrust of the discussions will be taking the resolutions of ‘Saat Nishchay-3’ to every citizen, accelerating the push toward a developed Bihar, and finalising the framework for forthcoming political and organisational programmes. The party will also consider suggestions to make its organisation more empowered, responsive, and active down to the booth level, with an emphasis on disciplined mobilisation and effective outreach.
Prasad said JD(U) views organisational strength as the backbone of public service and development-oriented politics, and the June 21 deliberations are expected to further consolidate the party’s agenda of good governance, social justice, and development under Nitish Kumar’s leadership.
