Girl killed in Araria for opposing illicit relationship
Patna: A 16-year-old girl, Sajida Parveen, was allegedly killed in Araria district late Monday night for allegedly opposing an illicit relationship. Her body was found at her parent’s house on Tuesday. Police said two persons have been arrested and they were being interrogated.
Sajida was a resident of Prem Nagar ward no. 16 under Araria RS Police station area.
According to Sajida’s father Mudshir, his daughter was married against her will to 35-year-old Abbu Nasar about 18 months back. “She did not want to marry being a minor, but her mother Shaista Parveen (45), got her married to Abbu,” he said.
Mudshir alleged that his wife Shaista and son-in-law Abbu had been in a relationship for five years. “The affair between my wife and Abbu continued because my daughter was a minor,” he said.
Mudshir said Sajida had seen her mother and husband together. After that she started opposing their relationship. He alleged that both Shaista and Abbu plotted to kill Sajida.
“On Monday night, my wife said Sajida was unwell. She and Abbu took her on a bike in an unconscious state, saying they were going to consult a doctor. They took her to Godhi Chowk and killed her there. After the murder, they left her body at our house in Prem Nagar,” Mudshir told police.
Araria RS police station in charge Ankur Kumar said a team reached the spot after receiving information. “The body was sent to a govt hospital for the postmortem. Police have arrested Parveen and Abbu. Both are being interrogated and further legal action is underway,” the police officer said.
