Noida: Two teenagers were injured in separate storm-related incidents in Noida on Thursday. In Sector 63, bricks placed on the third-floor wall of a house fell during the storm and hit a 15-year-old boy on the head. In Bisrakh, a 16-year-old boy from Greater Noida West suffered a minor injury after strong winds and rain blew off a signboard near City Plaza.
In the first incident, the boy was struck by the debris inside a ground-floor room with his mother when parts of the under-construction house collapsed on the temporary roof of their residence. He sustained severe injuries to his head and leg. Police received information about the incident around 8pm and a police team was sent to the spot.
“By the time police reached the location, the boy had already been shifted to a nearby hospital by the owner of the under-construction house,” an officer said.
The boy is in a stable condition and the owner of the under-construction house agreed to cover his medical bills. No police complaint was registered in the case.
In the second incident, the teenager was walking to a shop in City Plaza near his highrise society when strong winds uprooted a signboard, which struck his leg.
“The boy received minor injuries and is out of danger,” police said.
