Police file chargesheets in eight TCS Nashik cases
Nashik: The city police on Thursday filed eight chargesheets in eight FIRs against multiple accused in connection with cases related to alleged molestation, sexual harassment and hurting of religious sentiments at the TCS office in Nashik. This means the special investigation team has now filed chargesheets in all nine cases.
ACP Sandip Mitke, who heads the special investigation team (SIT), said the latest filings were submitted before the additional chief judicial magistrate in cases registered at the Mumbai Naka police station, following an earlier 1,500-page chargesheet filed in a Deolali Camp police case.
The police said nine complaints were registered by employees against colleagues, leading to the arrest of eight accused, including two women. Bail applications of all the accused have been rejected, and they remain in custody. Investigations are on in all cases, and further legal action may follow. “If required, supplementary chargesheets would also be filed against them,” Mitke said.
“The chargesheets, collectively of over 2,000 pages, have been filed with the court. We have recorded the witness statements of over 45 people in connection with the cases. We have provided evidence like mobile phone communications, CCTV footage, technical evidence and even the objects recovered from the accused during the course of investigation,” Mitke said.
On the charges invoked, Mitke added, “All the charges mentioned in the FIRs have been maintained based on the strong evidence that has been collected.”
