Leopard spotted near Wagle estate area in Mumbai

Thane: A leopard was spotted in the Indira Nagar area of Wagle Estate along the SGNP boundary Saturday evening. Forest officials who rushed to the spot said there was no reason for concern as the big cat was spotted within its territory and did not infringe on city limits. No incident of any human injury was reported till the time of filing the report. Though leopard sighting was common in the area, forest officials said they have nonetheless issued a cautionary for residents to not venture out alone after dusk or before sunrise. A team will revisit the area Sunday morning to rule out the presence of the leopard within human settlements, officials said.
