Ludhiana: Punjab governor Gulab Chand Kataria on Saturday emphasised the need to adopt the ideology of Satguru Ram Singh to make Punjab a drug-free state.
In a statement issued here, during his first visit to Sri Bhaini Sahib, the governor paid obeisance and addressed a Gurmat Samagam.
He said that the roots of India’s freedom struggle were laid by Satguru Ram Singh Ji, who initiated a movement of non-cooperation against British rule and provided religious, social and political direction to society.
Describing the Namdhari sect as a symbol of simplicity, truthfulness and humility, the governor urged people to follow the path shown by the Gurus to achieve spiritual and social upliftment.
