Industrial body, state govt hold mass hiring drive
Ludhiana: A job fair jointly organised by the Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings (CICU) and the state govt resulted in employment opportunities for 1,133 youth. The collaborative recruitment drive concluded with 43 companies shortlisting 2,081 candidates from a pool of 4,271 registered job seekers.
The event was held in partnership with the district administration, the department of employment generation, skill development and training, and the department of technical education and industrial training.
The participating 43 companies represented a diverse range of industrial sectors, offering varied career paths to candidates with different educational and professional backgrounds.
Organisers stated the primary objective of the initiative was to accelerate regional employment generation, address industrial demands for skilled manpower, and establish direct communication channels between employers and local youth. Officials noted that the high placement and shortlisting numbers demonstrate the success of joint state-industry recruitment efforts.
