Ludhiana: Two unidentified men broke into an LPG agency in Umaidpur village under Sahnewal and decamped with around 60 cylinders, a laptop, printer and modem, with losses pegged at Rs 4.5 lakh. They were captured on CCTV despite attempts to damage the cameras.
Police registered an FIR on the complaint of Vishal Singla of Patiala, who runs the agency. He said the accused scaled the boundary wall on the night of May 24, tampered with CCTV cameras, and stole office equipment before loading 48 commercial (19kg) and 12 (5kg) cylinders into a vehicle and fleeing.
Singla alleged delay in FIR registration, claiming police acted after intervention by an influential person. Investigating officer ASI Karnail Singh said the case was registered after inquiry. A case has been booked under BNS sections for house trespass and theft.
