UP BJP chief to crisscross state for grassroots feedback
Lucknow: With UP Assembly elections drawing closer, BJP has intensified its organisational and governance outreach across the state. While chief minister Yogi Adityanath is crisscrossing the state to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for development projects — reinforcing party’s governance-centric poll narrative — state BJP chief Pankaj Chaudhary is set to embark on district-wise ‘pravas’ (overnight stay) programmes to gauge grassroots sentiment, energise the cadre and finetune party’s electoral strategy.
Chaudhary, who initiated the exercise by visiting Siddharthnagar and his constituency Maharajganj, will visit all districts and hold one-on-one interactions with party’s office-bearers, public representatives and workers at every level.
During district visits, Chaudhary will meet BJP functionaries from booth to the district level. He will also consult former party office-bearers to gather feedback on organisational functioning and electoral preparedness.
Sources said Chaudhary is expected to review the performance of sitting MPs and MLAs, assess their work on the ground and hold discussions on electoral challenges posed by the Samajwadi Party and Congress. He will also seek inputs from senior and former public representatives to gain perspective on political developments in different regions.
Besides meeting cadre and elected representatives, Chaudhary plans to engage with youth and individuals aligned with the party’s ideology. Party sources said the meetings are designed to ensure that every voice is heard and that suggestions from the grassroots are incorporated into the party’s electoral strategy.
A senior UP BJP member said the objective of the exercise is to eliminate communication gaps in the organisation and strengthen coordination between the leadership and workers. The leadership believes that greater interaction at the grassroots will help identify weaknesses early and ensure a more effective and united campaign machinery.
Chaudhary’s statewide outreach will be significant in BJP’s preparations for the UP Assembly polls, with the party aiming to consolidate its organisational strength and maintain its political dominance in the state.
