MP NEET aspirant’s suicide note an ‘eye‑opener’ for BJP supporters: Akhilesh
Lucknow: Attacking Modi govt over the NEET paper leak and its impact on students’ psyche, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday posted the suicide note left behind by an aspirant who ended her life in Madhya Pradesh and asked if her agony will be an ‘eye-opener’ for BJP supporters.
“Whenever the blatant falsehood of ‘developed India under BJP govt’ is chronicled, this last letter of a helpless daughter will be a part of that history. Here is direct appeal to BJP supporters: Will this letter be an eye-opener for you?,” Akhilesh wrote in his X post in Hindi and posted an image of the suicide note in which the girl had written that she no longer has the courage to take the NEET exam again.
The note in Hindi, addressed to her parents, read: “Mom and Dad, you had faith that your daughter would study hard and become a doctor, but I no longer have the courage to take the NEET exam again. I would have scored good marks in my first attempt, but now there is no guarantee that I will perform well again. I am sorry, Mom and Dad. I have ruined everything.”
Earlier, Akhilesh had attacked BJP govt over the suicide by a NEET aspirant in Lakhimpur Kheri and had sent a party delegation to meet his family. The SP delegation later submitted a memorandum to the Lakhimpur district magistrate seeking Rs 2 crore ex-gratia relief for his family. The party had also demanded Rs 50,000 as travel allowance for students appearing in competitive examinations.
‘Chitrakoot water shortage has exposed BJP’s claims’
Lucknow: Akhilesh Yadav attacked UP govt over protests in Chitrakoot over shortage of drinking water. He said people were being deprived of basic necessities and the BJP was busy promising them the moon in 2047. “The protests in Chitrakoot are a sad reality of BJP’s much publicised Jal Jeevan Mission scheme which has collapsed with overhead water tanks that have come crumbling down in different parts of the state due to rampant corruption in their construction,” Akhilesh said in a statement.
