Kanpur: The weather is expected to range primarily from clear to partly cloudy, with low probability (15% to 35%) of light drizzle or dust-laden winds accompanied by thunder and lightning in some parts on Tuesday, as per the predictions of the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Meanwhile, in most places, strong sunlight and heat will continue to persist during the day.
The IMD predicted that the sky will remain predominantly clear with strong sunshine, and partially cloudy skies may develop during the evening or night. The maximum temperature is expected to range between 37°C and 41°C, while the minimum temperature is estimated to be between 27°C and 30°C.
In Kanpur Dehat, partly cloudy skies are expected, with a possibility of light, dusty winds blowing in the afternoon, said IMD. The maximum temperature will range between 34°C and 37°C, while the minimum temperature will be between 27°C and 28°C, with a possibility of light drizzle or thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening.
However, weather expert at Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Dr S Sunil Pandey, stated that the Kanpur division is likely to experience increased activity of thunderclouds accompanied by strong winds and a possibility of light rains in the next few days. A drop of 3 to 5 degrees in temperatures is expected this week. While there will be some relief from the heat, humid conditions are likely to persist, he said.
Meanwhile, in Kanpur Nagar, a marginal dip of mercury was recorded in maximum temperature — 35.3 degrees Celsius at CSA weather observatory — and minimum temperature was recorded as 21.1 degrees on Monday.
