Boy falls to death during monkey attack

Kanpur: A 12-year-old boy Abdurrahman died after falling from a rooftop during a monkey attack in Kannauj’s Samadhan locality, Mohalla Sikandar Nagar, on Sunday morning, police said.

The incident took place at around 8 am on Sunday when Abdurrahman, son of Mohammad Sageer, was playing on the rooftop of his house. A troop of monkeys suddenly attacked him and he panicked and fell from the rooftop onto a lower terrace. The fall caused bricks from the parapet wall to collapse on him, leaving him critically injured.

Family members rushed him to hospital, but he died on the way. The incident led to wailing and grief in the family. As the news spread, a large number of people gathered at the spot to see the body. The deceased was the fifth among four sisters and three brothers. The deceased’s father runs a fruit cart to support the family.
