Woman found dead in Bikaner forest area, husband missing
Jaipur: A 35-year-old woman was found dead in a semi-nude condition in a forest department area on the outskirts of Sridungargarh in Bikaner district Tuesday, triggering a police investigation. Her husband is missing and is being treated as a suspect as police probe the circumstances surrounding her death.According to police, a group of morning walkers spotted the body lying in the forest area and immediately alerted authorities. A police team rushed to the spot, cordoned off the area and began collecting evidence. Given the sensitive nature of the case, a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team was also called in to assist with the investigation.Preliminary inquiries helped establish the woman’s identity. Investigators said she was found lying face down, with no clothing on the upper part of her body, making the circumstances suspicious.During the investigation, police visited the woman’s residence and found that her husband, a native of Jhalawar district who had been living with her in Sridungargarh, was missing. Officials said efforts have been intensified to trace him and ascertain his role, if any, in the incident.
Police said they are examining all possible angles, including murder and other circumstances that may have led to the woman’s death. The body will be shifted to the mortuary for post-mortem examination after the FSL team completes its inspection and evidence collection at the scene.Further investigation is underway.
