Two killed, 14 injured as private bus overturns in Baran
Kota: A 58-year-old man and a teen girl were killed, while 14 other passengers, including women and children, were injured when a private sleeper bus, overturned near Phardua village on NH-27 in Baran district on the intervening Monday-Tuesday night. The bus was plying from Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh to Kota.
Two passengers including a 16-year-old girl died on the spot, while 14 others were injured in the accident, said Kasbathana SHO Yogesh Sharma. The deceased passengers were identified as Shakshi Kushwah (16), a resident of Kishanganj in Baran, and Radheshyam Bheel (58) of Kota city, Sharma said.
Police said in the preliminary probe it was found that the bus driver lost control most probably due to drowsiness, and the bus overturned onto the roadside down field.
The injured were taken to a local hospital, where three of them with serious injuries were referred to a higher health centre, he added.
Police handed over the two bodies to the respective family members after post-mortem Tuesday morning and lodged a case against the bus driver, the SHO said.
