Lightning strike kills teen in Gadag

Gadag: A teenager died due to a lightning strike in Rajur village, Gadag district, on Friday evening. His brother, who had a narrow escape from lightning, brought his body home by carrying it on his shoulder. The deceased is Prashant Sharanappa Huded, 19, a resident of Rajur. Family sources said that Prashant and his elder brother had gone to graze cattle on the outskirts of the village. “Prashant was hit by lightning while his brother was grazing cattle. Following his death, his brother brought the body home,” they added. Gajendragad police visited the spot and registered a case.
