Woman dies in Vasco accident

VASCO: 55-year-old Sitabai Ramkrishna Padvalkar, a resident of Mangor, died after a Bolero Jeep, which is on contract with the Public Works Department, Vasco, collided with her.
According to the investigating officer, PSI Vaibhav Naik, "the woman was crossing the road, when she was banged by the jeep on NH 17-B going towards the airport".
The accident occurred on Monday at 5:30pm with Sitabai suffering grievous injuries.She was shifted to Cottage hospital at Chicalim. The doctors after checking her declared brought dead, Naik informed. The driver of the jeep, Nilesh Shirodkar, was taken into custody by the Vasco police.
