GHAZIABAD: The Ghaziabad administration on Monday initiated an action plan against the family residence of the main accused in the Surya Chauhan murder case, stating that the residence is an illegal encroachment built on government land. This came just after the day the alleged accused was killed in a police encounter. The office of the Sub-District Magistrate (SDM) pasted a notice outside Asad’s house, directing that the illegal encroachment be removed within the time span of 15 days. The notice clearly states that if the structure is not cleared within the given time period, then legal action will be initiated.According to the administration, the property has been identified as an unauthorised construction on government land. Asad was the prime accused in the killing of Surya Chauhan, who was stabbed during an altercation on May 28 and later succumbed to stab injuries. Police arrested the three accused soon after the incident, while Asad remained on the run until the encounter. The administration's move against the residence comes amid a broader crackdown on alleged illegal properties and encroachments linked to individuals accused of serious crimes.(With ANI inputs)
