SHO shifted after ASI's arrest

Chandigarh: Following the arrest of ASI Hitesh Kumar in a ₹40,000 graft case, the UT police department has dismissed him from service.

On Tuesday, SHO Rajiv Kumar of Sector‑39 police station was transferred to police lines in Sector‑26. Jai Parkash, SHO of Sector‑36, has been appointed as the new SHO of Sector‑39, while Inspector Chiranji Lal of the District Crime Cell will hold additional charge of Sector‑36.

DGP Dr. Sagar Preet Hooda reiterated that corruption will not be tolerated. The CBI had arrested Hitesh Kumar last Saturday after he was caught accepting a bribe to release a seized vehicle.
