Govt actively pursuing Hatu Mata ropeway project: CM
Shimla: Himachal Pradesh chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Sunday said the state govt was making efforts to promote religious tourism. He announced that the proposed Hatu Mata ropeway project had been taken up under NABARD.After offering prayers at the Hatu Mata temple near Narkanda, Sukhu said Himachal Pradesh's rich "dev culture" attracted devotees from across the country and the govt was working to improve access to major religious destinations.Sukhu said the state govt was actively pursuing the Hatu Mata ropeway project, which had been proposed under NABARD funding. While the project may take three or four years to materialise, it remains a priority for the govt, he added.The CM also said funds had been sanctioned to upgrade the road leading to the temple.He further said the survey for the proposed four-laning of the Dhali-Narkanda-Rampur highway had been completed. Tunnel construction will be prioritised to reduce landslide-related disruptions and improve travel safety, said the CM.During his visit, Sukhu also announced a grant of Rs 50 lakh for the Narkanda nagar panchayat.MSID:: 131568142 413 |
