No increase in textbook prices this year: Board
Ahmedabad: Ahead of the school enrolment drive, the Gujarat State School Textbook Board has intensified efforts to ensure timely distribution of textbooks across primary schools. Acting chairman Manu Pawara stated that the board is working on a war footing with strong planning to deliver textbooks for all mediums, across primary to higher secondary levels, within the stipulated timeline.
Pawara said that despite global challenges, including delayed paper imports due to international conflicts and legal processes, the board managed to continue large-scale printing operations. He assured that there will be no increase in textbook prices this academic year.
He said textbooks for private and non-granted schools have reached distributors and are available to students. For govt primary schools, free textbooks will be delivered at the taluka level before the Shala Praveshotsav. Distribution to secondary and higher secondary schools is also progressing rapidly with support from various govt agencies.
The board has introduced an advanced digital backup system where all textbooks are available as e-books on the official website, allowing students and teachers to access chapters online if physical copies are delayed.
