Gujarat home dept opens public relations centre at secretariat
Gandhinagar: The state home department on Tuesday opened a public relations centre at the secretariat complex in Gandhinagar, where citizens can visit and make representations about grievances pertaining to the police department.
Officers of state police will be posted at the centre in shifts, where they will hear complaints, suggestions and accept applications from the general public. Officers will coordinate with respective police officials in the field to resolve the complaints, an official statement said.
Govt sources said that submissions made by citizens will be recorded for follow-up action and a report of all the submissions made will be sent to top officials of the department to be reviewed on a day-to-day basis.
Comprehensive feedback forms are also being filled to improve the service. Information on case progress will be provided on phone, the statement said.
Sources said that officers of the rank of IG will be present at the centre and all grievances are addressed at the earliest.
