Political streamer Hasan Piker has found himself at the center of another major online controversy after reports revealed that the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control issued subpoenas connected to his March 2026 trip to Cuba. The development spread quickly across social media, with critics and supporters instantly turning the situation into one of the internet’s biggest political flashpoints.

The subpoenas reportedly focus on whether participants involved in the “Nuestra América Convoy” violated U.S. sanctions laws while traveling to Cuba. Federal authorities are said to be reviewing financial activity, coordination efforts, and possible interactions involving Cuban government-linked entities. While no charges have been announced, the investigation has already triggered heated debate online over activism, foreign policy, and political speech.

HasanAbi later criticized the American government directly while addressing the investigation and the broader political conversation surrounding Cuba. Quoting coverage of the subpoena reports, he posted:

"the american govt would rather try to criminalize delivering aid to a country we’ve starved, than punish the epstein class."..
