Afghanistan, Iran border closed

​Pakistan has closed its border with Iran and Afghanistan for ensuring security during the national elections. Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said that to ensure full security border crossings with Afghanistan and Iran would remain closed both for cargo and pedestrians on Thursday and normal operations would resume on Friday. Female employees attacked by Taliban

Three female polling agents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Tappi have been attacked by the Taliban during the ongoing general elections. "Three of our female polling agents in Tappi has been attacked by Taliban. They have escaped the blast very narrowly. I had written to the DRO to change the polling stations in Tappi but my letter was ignored. Mobile services suspended

Pakistan temporarily suspended mobile phone services on Thursday to strengthen security as voting began in the country's national election, the interior ministry said.
