Rahul Mahajan denies tying the knot with girlfriend Amruta

Controversial TV personality, Rahul Mahajan, recently posted a picture on Twitter with girlfriend Amruta, after visiting Banke Bihari Temple in Vrindavan. They wore flower garlands and looked like a newly married couple. The picture left Rahul's fans curious and they started congratulating the couple. However, soon, Rahul clarified on the micro-blogging site that he is not married and just attended the aarti with Amruta.

According to a report on Bollywoodlife.com, rumour mills are abuzz with the news of Rahul Mahajan and Dimpy Ganguly's divorce getting finalised, with the final hearing being held on February 26, 2015, post which the two will be legally separated. The couple met on the reality show Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayenge in 2009. According to a report on Bollywoodlife.com, things got worse between them within a year, with Dimpy complaining of being subject to domestic violence by Rahul. Further to reports on Bollywoodlife.com, the two are said to have given their marriage a second shot but again parted ways in 2010 and filed for divorce. Bollywoodlife.com states that sources further claimed that Dimpy's miscarriage was one of the reasons for this fall out and as per rumour mills, she is seeing someone based in Dubai and Rahul too is dating someone. However, the two have refuted these rumours.

According to an IANS report, after his eviction from Bigg Boss Halla Bol, Rahul Mahajan denied going inside the House to solve issues with his estranged wife Dimpy. However, he feels that their bond has become stronger due to the show, the report stated. “We were never enemies. Our friendship has became stronger but that doesn’t mean we went in to solve our personal problems. We are nothing less than friends and nothing more than friends,” Rahul said to IANS. Meanwhile, Rahul was also embroiled in a controversy with Karishma Tanna, who accused him of crossing the line and flirting with her. However, Rahul said to IANS that it was for fun and was not intended to hurt anyone. “The flirting was healthy. They don’t have a sense of humour. What else we can do with a couple of people inside the house. Intention were never dishonourable," Rahul was quoted in the report.

Rahul, who has filed for divorce with estranged wife Dimpy, is apparently dating a pretty lass named Aparna Joshi, reports Bollywoodlife.com. The website also revealed pictures of the pretty lady. Besides this, Rahul has been seen flirting with Karishma and Dimpy on Bigg Boss Halla Bol as well.

Rahul Mahajan, who entered Bigg Boss Halla Bol as a Challenger, got drunk and misbehaved with Karishma Tanna. As seen in the episode, Gautam Gulati tried to stop him but failed due to Rahul's tantrums as he was sloshed and out of control. Apparently, Rahul also threw water at Upen Patel leaving the entire house in shock.

Rahul Mahajan was embroiled in a drug controversy in 2006. According to a report, Delhi police had arrested him for having drugs and allowing his house to be used for drug consumption. He was later released on bail. According to a PTI report, Rahul said, "I am not drug dependent or a user. I have not committed anything illegal or any wrongdoing, Now that I am out on bail, I am better placed to defend myself and I pray to the judiciary to be impartial and independent."

Rahul Mahajan was married to Shweta Singh who is also a pilot. According to a Mumbai Mirror report, Shweta had complained of domestic violence before taking it back. However later in 2010, Rahul Mahajan was all set to remarry as he participated in the show Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega through which he was to find his soul mate. A report in Hyderabad Times stated that Rahul had approached his ex-wife to take part in the show. The report quoted Shweta, "He did, but I obviously refused! Firstly, I feel these reality shows are scripted and fake. Marriages are made in heaven and not on reality shows! Secondly, if I wanted to be a part of his life, why would I have gone in for a divorce?"

Rahul Mahajan came as a participant on the television show Bigg Boss season 2. He seemed to be very popular with the ladies in the house. Rahul was seen giving a massage to fellow contestant Payal Rohatgi and was also seen enjoying with her in the pool. He was allegedly linked to Payal Rohatgi, however their relationship took a rather ugly turn later as Payal alleged that Rahul was abusive towards her.

Rahul Mahajan signed up for a reality show to find his ultimate soul mate. He fell in love with Dimpy Ganguly on the show Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega and they had a grand wedding on the television. However within four months of their marriage, Dimpy had reported of physical abuse. According to a Bombay Times report, Dimpy stated that Rahul had kicked, punched and dragged her by her hair and that whenever he got angry, he would get physical. The report also quoted Dimpy saying, "One such fight got so out of hand that I had to call my mother-in-law. Later he was angry that I had involved his mother in the affair. He is a nice guy, but when he loses it, there is no telling what he might do."

After Dimpy came out in the open, a report on Indiatoday.in stated that Payal Rohatgi had alleged that Rahul had physically assaulted her when they were in a relationship. Payal, in the report, also stated that she was forced to part ways with him because of his abusive ways. However this time, Dimpy had come out in his support. According to a report in Bombay Times, Dimpy said, "I will not hear anything against my husband. What I revealed about our marriage to the media, I did because I have that right as a wife. But nobody else has the right to speak against him. It is Payal who has been harassing my husband, calling him up at odd hours and sending him SMS. But Rahul and I do not like to malign people. I request Payal to stop this behaviour. I will not hear anything against my husband."

After the controversial moment in the Mahajan family, all seemed to have become normal between Dimpy and Rahul. The duo participated in a dance reality show. Their marriage went on for almost four years, but last year, the couple filed for a divorce. According to a Mumbai Mirror report, Rahul and Dimpy had decided to part ways through mutual consent. The two are now confronted in the ongoing reality show Bigg Boss season 8 wherein Dimpy is a contestant and Rahul has come as a challenger contestant.
