‘Stranger Things’ to ‘Thar’: 5 web series and movies to look forward to in May

As the world of entertainment expands digitally, new stories are coming up revolving around love, life, loss, and mystery. While some shows are returning with their sequel, other shows are progressing toward the start of their journey. Here are 5 highly anticipated titles releasing on OTT this May.

The much-awaited sci-fi horror series, ‘Stranger Things' is coming back with Season 4. The upcoming season will be released in two parts, the first of which will be released this month and the second in five weeks. The show features Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Cara Buono, and Brett Gelman, and releases on May 27.

Jitendra Kumar will be reprising his role as Abhishek Tripathi for the second season of Panchayat. Helmed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, the web series also stars Neena Gupta and Raghubir Yadav in pivotal roles. The show is all set to release on May 20.

The much-anticipated action thriller starring Anil Kapoor and Harshvardhan Kapoor, will premiere later this month. Helmed by Raaj Singh Chaudhary, the show titled ‘Thar’ recounts the story of an antique trader and a local cop who become engrossed in a mystery unfolding in the background. The film also features Fatima Sana Shaikh and Satish Kaushik in important roles.

Talk about love, talk about exploring relationships and emotions, in the city of dreams, the Mumbai chapter of the widely loved US original anthology series 'Modern Love', explores six diverse yet universal stories of different facets, shades and moods of love, all set in the city’s many unique milieus. Inspired by the famous New York Times column, 'Modern Love Mumbai', brings together six of the most prolific minds of Hindi cinema - Vishal Bhardwaj, Hansal Mehta, Shonali Bose, Dhruv Sehgal, Alankrita Shrivastava and Nupur Asthana. The show is all set to release on May 13.

Supriya Pathak and Manoj Pahwa will soon be seen sharing the screen space together in an OTT show titled ‘Home Shanti’. The light-hearted family drama will also star Chakori Dwivedi and Poojan Chhabra, both making their debut. Created by Aakanksha Dua, the story revolves around a Dehradun-based middle-class family who wishes to create their ideal home. The show will focus on their problems and successes in building their ideal home.
