'Panchayat' Season 5 star Chandan Roy aka Vikas decodes Phulera’s next chapter, promises it will be 'bada, behtar aur khoobsurat'
Fans have been eagerly waiting for Season 5 of Prime Video’s blockbuster series ‘Panchayat’. Now, actor Chandan Roy, who plays the beloved character Vikas, has dropped an exciting hint about the upcoming season that is sure to raise anticipation among viewers. The audience's favorite fictional village, Phulera, is gearing up to return with more entertaining stories. While Prime Video had already confirmed Season 5 of ‘Panchayat’, very little information has been revealed since then. Given the show's immense popularity, fans have been eagerly tracking every update.
In an interview with Variety India, Chandan said, "Is show ki sabse khoobsurat baat yeh hai ki har kirdar ke rishte aur uski journey waqt ke saath badalti rehti hai. Vikas ka kirdar mere liye aisa mauka tha, jiski maine apne career ke shuruaati daur mein kabhi kalpana bhi nahi ki thi. Woh shuru se hi main characters mein shamil tha, lekin itne saalon mein uska jo asar aur vistaar hua hai, uski wajah darshakon ka pyaar hai. Log uski saadgi aur imaandaar emotions se connect kar paate hain."
(The most beautiful thing about this show is that every character's relationships and journey continue to evolve over time. Playing Vikas gave me an opportunity I never imagined in the early days of my career. He was always one of the main characters, but the way his role and impact have expanded over the years is because of the audience's love. People connect with his simplicity and honest emotions.)
There has been plenty of speculation that the next season will bring major developments in both the political and emotional dynamics of the story. While Chandan avoided revealing any plot details, he did offer a teaser that has heightened excitement among fans. Describing Season 5 in just three words, he said, "Bada, behtar aur khoobsurat." (Bigger, better and more beautiful.)
(Panchayat connected with people because it portrayed rural Indian life in a very authentic way. It is not tied to any specific timeline, yet its events are universal and remain relevant at all times. Political and emotional ups and downs are a reality everywhere, just as they are in Phulera.)
With Season 5 on the horizon, fans can expect another heartfelt return to Phulera, where everyday life, humor, emotions and politics continue to strike a chord with audiences across the country.

Why has ‘Panchayat’ become so popular?
Explaining the show's widespread appeal, Chandan noted that art can act as both a reflection of society and a means of turning imagination into reality. He said, "Panchayat logon ke dilon tak isliye pahunchi kyunki usne Bharatiya grameen jeevan ko bahut hi vaastavik tareeke se dikhaya. Yeh kisi khaas timeline se judi nahi hai, lekin iski ghatnayein universal hain aur har samay prasangik rehti hain. Political aur emotional utaar-chadhaav har jagah ki haqeeqat ka hissa hote hain, bilkul Phulera ki tarah."With Season 5 on the horizon, fans can expect another heartfelt return to Phulera, where everyday life, humor, emotions and politics continue to strike a chord with audiences across the country.
