Horror fans are always on the lookout for a good thrill but more often than not end up being disappointed with their choice of watch. What can be worse than bracing yourselves for a night of jumpscares and shocking twists only to find yourself laughing at the stupidity of the characters or the obvious loopholes in the plot. Trust us when we say, we've been there, endured that. However, there are some shows that make us swaddle ourselves in blankets and watch with half-shut eyes. If you haven't yet watched 'The Haunting of Hill House', now would be a good time to start. Watch the show closely enough and you will spot demonic entities lurking around in the shadows of every other frame. That's not all, being one of the highest-rated shows, it got a sequel too- 'The Haunting of Bly Manor', which brings with it some major scares from beyond the grave.

Just as the title 'American Horror Story' suggests, this web show has all that it takes to give you the chills. With each season presenting a different story, the show is among fan-favourites simply because it never fails to frighten the living daylights out of its viewers. The show not only features ghosts, witches, serial killers but also has clowns creepy enough to give Pennywise a run for his money. Need we say more?

If you thought 'The Exorcist' was just another run-of-the-mill show about just another exorcism, then you couldn't be any more wrong. Dubbed 'a must-watch for all Exorcism fans' this one doesn't hold back on the gore, horrors, chills, and some new twists as it follows two priests dealing with cases of a demonic possession that torments not just families but even the mother church.

Fans of Alfred Hitchcock's 'Psycho' are sure to love 'Bates Motel', the series that is said to be a prequel to the classic. This one tells the story of Norman Bates before he went off the rails to become the murderer with dual-personality. This creepy show is sure to keep you glued to your screen.

This series doesn't feature in our list just because it is close to home, but also because it is terrifying, gory, and spinechilling, just the way we like it. Starring Radhika Apte in the lead, this series is set in a dystopian future in India, where an alleged 'terrorist' locked away in a military interrogation centre, turns the tables on his captors and unleashes a demon from Arabic folklore. When myth meets reality, it's bound to be a match made in hell.
