Arshi Khan: I'm not Pakistani, but Indian, though have roots in AfghanistanThe Taliban has seized the capital city of Kabul in Afghanistan just a couple of weeks before the US was set to complete its troop withdrawal after a two-decade war and rechristened the country as the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. Now, 'Bigg Boss 11' famed Arshi Khan, in an interview, opened up on her connection with Afghanistan and revealed that she is often misunderstood for being a Pakistani citizen. While stating that she is not of Pakistan origin, though have roots in Afghanistan, she said, 'I'm an Afghani Pathan, and my family belongs to the Yusuf Zaheer Pathan ethnic group. My grandfather had migrated from Afghanistan and was a jailer in Bhopal. My roots are in Afghanistan but I am an Indian citizen.' Further, she confessed that as people assume her as a citizen of Pakistan, she often gets trolled for the same and has even lost several projects. She said, 'I have a hard time when people unnecessarily target and troll me while questioning me over my citizenship. They misunderstand me to be a citizen of Pakistan who is living in India. And for this confusion at times, I have suffered on my work front too. These are such sad experiences of life.' Watch the video for more details.
