The Madhya Pradesh state economic wing (EOW) carried out raids on residential premises of a RTO officer in Bhopal and recovered cash, jewellery and details of assets worth crores in his possession. A sum of Rs 16 lakh in cash was confiscated from the residence of RTO Santosh Pal. EOW was conducting a probe against him for the last two years during which they found that his assets were 650 times disproportionate to his known source of income. This includes a palatial bungalow where raids started. Officers found a theater inside his house. Documents related to several properties were found. EOW officers informed that his assets are worth nearly Rs 300 crore. His wife also works in the transport department on a clerical post.
