Former Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott has said the defence ties with India were necessary as both sides faced challenges from China in the Indo-Pacific. In an interview to PTI in Delhi, where Abbott had come to take part in the Raisina Dialoigue, the former PM said unless the Beijing regime changes its attitude, there was going to be continued tensions in the world. "There is one significant power in our region, which is against democracy and rules-based order and which constantly states its aim is to be the world's top power within just a couple of decades. That's China and CCP," Abbott said. Abbott also spoke on the forthcoming visit of Australian PM Anthony Albanese to India.
