Delhi Government Orders Crackdown After Fatal Hotel Fire In Malviya Nagar
The Delhi government has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the devastating fire at a hotel in Malviya Nagar, which has claimed at least 21 lives. Officials confirmed that nine victims have been identified so far, while efforts are underway to establish the identities of the remaining 12. Rescue and recovery operations continued through the night as emergency teams worked at the site. Following the incident, authorities have registered an FIR against the property owner and initiated a detailed probe into the lapses that led to the tragedy. The Delhi CMO has also announced a city-wide crackdown on illegal properties, unauthorised guest houses, and establishments violating fire safety norms and building by-laws. Such premises will be sealed and prosecuted under the law, as officials vow strict accountability for those responsible.
