Delhi Fire Horror: Owner's Bangladesh-Linked Arrest Draws Attention
Lavkesh Bajaj, the owner of the Delhi bed-and-breakfast where a fire killed 21 people, was previously arrested in a case involving alleged forgery and illegal identity documents. Police say Bajaj allowed a Bangladeshi woman, her daughter and grandson to use his Delhi address to obtain Indian documents, including Aadhaar cards and a passport. The revelation comes as investigators probe the deadly Paharganj fire and alleged licensing violations at the guesthouse. Authorities have also found that the establishment's tea-and-snacks licence had expired months before the incident.
