CBSE Crisis Deepens Amid Fresh Allegations Of Student Data Exposure
Fresh allegations of cybersecurity lapses have intensified scrutiny of the CBSE's On Screen Marking (OSM) system, with ethical hackers and independent developers claiming that sensitive student data, scanned answer sheets and question papers were exposed online due to security vulnerabilities. Cyber activists alleged that flaws in the digital evaluation infrastructure could potentially put millions of students at risk. While CBSE has stated that identified vulnerabilities have been contained and cybersecurity experts from government agencies and IITs have been deployed to strengthen the system, concerns persist over claims regarding exposed cloud storage. The controversy has now reached the National Human Rights Commission, with activists urging intervention to safeguard students' educational rights and ensure that technical failures do not affect admissions, scholarships or other academic opportunities.
