“9 people dead, we are in contact with UP Govt,” says TN Health Minister on Madurai train incident
Tamil Nadu Health Minister MA Subramanian visited the Madurai Rajaji Government Hospital to meet the survivors of the Madurai train fire incident where more than 50 people got injured and 9 people were confirmed to be dead. He said that four dead bodies have been identified. He also informed that they are talking to the Uttar Pradesh government and will send the bodies when required. "Nine people died in the incident, out of which four people have been identified. The injured in the accident are being treated. After the postmortem, the bodies will be sent to their hometown. We are talking to the Uttar Pradesh government,” said MA Subramanian. On the morning of August 26, there was a fire in a ‘private party coach’ attached to the Punalur-Madurai Express. The blaze was started after a gas cylinder, which was illegally used by the passengers inside the compartment exploded. A total of nine passengers travelling from Uttar Pradesh were killed and over 50 persons were taken to the Madurai Rajaji Government Hospital.
