24 Indian Seafarers Issue Distress Alert Off Oman Coast; India Calls For De-escalation

A vessel carrying 24 Indian seafarers has reportedly come under attack off the coast of Oman, according to the Forward Seaman's Union of India. The crew issued a distress alert from waters near the Strait of Hormuz, prompting calls for urgent assistance. Amid the escalating security situation in West Asia, India has expressed deep concern over the continuing conflict in the region. The Ministry of External Affairs said the prolonged violence has caused significant human suffering and disrupted global economic and energy supply chains. New Delhi has urged all parties to immediately de-escalate tensions, protect civilians and pursue diplomatic negotiations to restore regional stability.
