Mammootty’s three releases this year has been as different as chalk and cheese. His Tamil movie Peranbu had him in a critically acclaimed role of a father of a spastic child, while the Telugu film Yatra had him playing former Andhra chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy. His upcoming Malayalam film, MaduraRaja, though has him once again doing a ‘mass’ role. Recently, the actor was asked why he chooses such roles in Mollywood at a press meet in Dubai and he replied that he likes doing varied roles and is confident he can pull it off because of the audience support over the 34 years of his career.
